Til Death Do Us Party

While I’m not sure if “throwing loved ones parties and events” is considered a love language, it’s certainly how I show my love to my family and friends. (And gift baskets, lots of gift baskets!)

I was so excited when one of my best friends proposed to their now wife. I immediately knew the theme and aesthetic I wanted to go with because I knew it would suit both of them.

Since the party was going to be a micro event (only 4 people), I knew that I could go all out when it came to the invitation. After all, I only needed to make one!

I decided I wanted to create something that was on the edgier side, but with a touch of elegance.

I handcrafted the above envelope using different materials, but my favorite component was the vintage brooch. The delicate feel of the brooch against the faux leather turned out just stunning to me.

When it came to the physical invitation, I used this opportunity to experiment with acrylic sheets. Armed with my Cricut and some acrylic paint, I was able to complete the mission.

I made personalized tumblers for each guest, making sure to match the design with the invitation. I put one of my favorite MCM candle holders behind them and topped it with a variety of pink and purple candles.

The overall decor was simple but fitting to the theme. I will admit that I got lucky that a lot of my own personal home decor could also be used.

Okay, So the giant floral “M” maybe wasn’t simple per se, but it was so worth it. I had a few favorite components for this installation: the bow, mini disco balls (come on, it’s a party after all), and a vintage cherub brooch.

Around a mirror in the dining room, I used different balloons to make a fun frame for the mirror. I loved the texture it created as it’s own backdrop.

I decorated the entry table using coffin vases to stick with the theme, and some other decor pieces that were used in other locations to make the overall look cohesive and complete. I chose to use this as the gift table where I displayed the photo collage and personalized t-shirts for each of them.

I was so honored to be able to throw a party for the engagement of my friend and even more honored to gain a new friend in their wife.

I absolutely love this theme. Would you like a party like this? Comment below and let me know your thoughts! Please feel welcomed to send and inquiry if you’re interested in my services for a party or event!
